BTM – Bridge to Muslims

Bridge To Muslims International

Who We Are

We are followers of Jesus Christ and His disciples. We consist of persons who were originally from Muslim backgrounds, or interfaith practitioners from predominantly Islamic countries. Our focus is on the Islamic world, especially in South and Southeast Asia.

We have a real concern for our Muslim families, friends and fellow citizens and pray that they may experience the freedom and deliverance from shallow and empty legalism and self-imposed righteousness through religious mores. But, first and foremost, we hope that Muslims will encounter the true and living Jesus the Messiah or Isa Al-Masih, Who alone is able to save us from sin and its evil consequences. All our religious attempts cannot free us from our wrongdoings, but we really need a personal encounter with God and a change from our sinful human nature and deceitful hearts.

We approach Muslims in an effective way to communicate meaningfully with them, dispelling mutual fears of Muslims. We want to learn about the Islamic faith and understand the Muslim worldview.

We also take the initiative to make initial contact and encourage further discussion. We also learn more about the Bible and being better at explaining Biblical truths with Muslim friends.

We also form special task groups in churches to focus on building meaningful bridges of communication and dialogue with Muslims in different parts of the world.

Vision

The Gospel for all Muslims

BTM reaches out to all Muslims including in closed and open regions and nations with the Gospel of Christ.

Mission

Our mission is to equip leaders adequately to share the Gospel with Muslims across all communication platforms, and to lead Muslims to Christ wherever they are found.

How We Work

Conflicts take place because

Christians avoid Muslims due to fear (caused by lack of knowledge) and do not interact with them. Christians are prejudiced in their views towards Muslims and do not understand their culture and the Islamic faith. Muslims misunderstand Christianity and Christians rarely take the opportunity to introduce Muslims to the Good News.

Consequences being that

Christians are hesitant about approaching Muslims to demonstrate God’s love to them. Muslims misinterpret the Christian message and choose not to follow Christ. Muslims who are interested in Christianity, or who have questions find that many churches are not able to give them the support they need.

BTM aims to build bridges by

  • Approaching Muslims positively and communicating openly with them.
  •  Facilitating Christians and Muslims to ask good and thoughtful questions.
  • Learning about the Islamic faith and understand the Muslim worldview.
  • Making initial contact and encouraging further discussion.
  • Learning more about the Bible accurately and being better able to explain biblical truths to Muslims.
  • Forming special task groups in churches, reaching out to Muslim friends.

Statement of Faith

We believe in:

The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely  inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

One God, eternally existent in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and his personal return in power and glory.

The Salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of  the Lord  Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Unity of the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ.

The Resurrection of both the saved and  the lost; they that are  saved unto the resurrection of life, they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We subscribe to the World Evangelical Alliance statement of faith found on their website here.
